Her daughter is Demelsa and her two sons are Mark and Danyel. Demelsa is preparing for GCSE exams. Mark is in Year Seven in the same school. Danyel is still in Year Four in primary school. Elen always speaks Cornish with her daughter and her sons. In this way they are growing up bilingually.

Exercise 2

Jana:

Hello, Elen.

Elen:

Jana, hello.

Jana:

Are you well?

Elen:

Ploughing on! And you?

Jana:

Better now. I’m getting over a cold.

Elen:

What did you at the weekend?

Jana:

Oh, shopping on Saturday as usual. Mum and Dad visited on Sunday. We went for a walk on the coast and let the dog loose on the beach.

Elen:

The weather’s bad this month.

Jana:

Well, the wind was strong on Sunday, but fortunately the rain wasn’t heavy.

Elen:

It’ll be sunny before long. I’d be willing to bet.

Jana:

Let’s hope so!
